SUMMARY: The geographic center of Nevada is located in a remote part of Nevada, nearly forty miles from any town. We visited the area in late March of 2024.
The flagpole signifies the "original" geographic center of Nevada. This site was initially designated in 1962.
However, in 2003, advancements in GPS technology led to the identification of a new location as the geographic center of Nevada, which was marked with a survey marker (last picture). And in 2023, a plaque was installed at the site to commemorate this location.
