The Union Pacific built twenty-five Big Boy's to haul freight over the Wasatch Range between Ogden, Utah and Green River, Wyoming.
The locomotives were built between 1941 and 1944. The last Big Boy was used in service in 1962. Only eight of these Big Boy locomotives survive today. All but one of them are in museums.
The Big Boy 4014 is currently on a west bound tour from Wyoming to California. And today, July 8th, 2024 it made a thirty-minute whistle stop here in town. Here's a few pictures we took.
